The major banks in the UK have announced their Christmas opening hours, providing important information for customers to manage their festive finances effectively.

Nationwide will not open its branches on Christmas Day or Boxing Day and will close early on Christmas Eve, with most locations shutting at 1 PM. Customers are encouraged to utilize the bank’s branch locator for specific local timings during the holiday season.

HSBC has also confirmed early closures on Christmas Eve, with branches and shared Banking Hubs closing at 1 PM and remaining shut on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Normal operating hours will resume from December 27 through December 30, before slightly adjusting hours for the New Year.

NatWest is streamlining holiday hours across its Royal Bank, NatWest, and Ulster Bank NI branches. On Christmas Eve, Royal Bank and NatWest will close by 2 PM, while Ulster Bank NI branches will shut at 12:30 PM. All branches will be completely closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, reopening on December 27 with regular hours.

Santander will close its branches early on Christmas Eve at 3 PM, remaining shut for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. On December 27, the bank will operate with reduced hours, closing at 1:30 PM, before reverting to normal hours until New Year’s celebrations. Customers are advised to check the branch and ATM locator for the latest updates on hours, as Santander has made permanent adjustments to its operating times in recent years.

Barclays will have all of its UK branches close at 3 PM on Christmas Eve and remain closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Following this closure, branches will operate under their normal schedule, which can also be found using their Branch Finder tool.
