CBS News has announced that veteran anchor and correspondent Adriana Diaz, alongside business journalist Kelly O’Grady, will be the new co-hosts for “CBS Saturday Morning,” effective this week. This change comes amid a series of staff reductions that saw the previous co-hosts, Michelle Miller and Dana Jacobson, part ways with the network in October.

The restructuring of the weekend program was planned prior to Bari Weiss taking on her role as editor in chief of CBS News. Weiss has recently been at the center of controversy, especially following her decision to withdraw a “60 Minutes” segment related to the Trump administration’s controversial treatment of Venezuelan migrants. Additionally, the launch of “CBS Evening News” with new anchor Tony Dokoupil has faced criticism, marking a challenging period for the network.

Adriana Diaz, who has been with CBS News since 2012, has a diverse background that includes significant reporting from Asia and Chicago. Her most recent position was as the anchor of “CBS Mornings Plus,” a program that aired following the main morning show in several markets. At 42 years old, Diaz is also a regular fill-in host for “CBS Mornings,” where she is viewed as a strong potential successor to Gayle King, who is in the final year of her contract.

Kelly O’Grady, 34, is a newer face to CBS, having joined in 2024 as a correspondent for its MoneyWatch unit. Prior to her role at CBS, O’Grady was a correspondent and fill-in anchor at Fox Business. In addition to her co-hosting duties, she will continue to cover business and technology stories for the network.

The addition of Diaz and O’Grady to the “CBS Saturday Morning” lineup represents a significant change for the program, with hopes that this fresh pairing will bring new energy and perspective to CBS’s weekend news offerings. Their combined experiences in journalism suggest a promising future for the show as it aims to retain and engage viewers amidst recent transitions within the network.
