The Fiji Men’s 7s team started their campaign with a close 21–24 defeat to South Africa but quickly found their rhythm. They overcame Great Britain with a score of 21–17, and capped off their day with a commanding 35–5 win over New Zealand, thereby securing a spot in the Cup semifinal. They are set to face Argentina tonight at 10:44 PM for a chance to compete in the final.
On the women’s side, the Fijiana 7s began with a 7–15 loss against the USA but responded impressively by dominating Great Britain with a staggering 40–0 victory. Unfortunately, their hopes for a semifinal appearance were dashed by a 7–19 loss to New Zealand. They will now look to capitalize on their recent performance when they take on Canada at 8 PM in the classification playoffs.
