Destiny Morris, a 19-year-old junior and cherished member of the Cal State Fullerton Dance Team, tragically passed away on November 14. Her untimely death has left the Titans Dance Team and the broader campus community in deep mourning. Known for her radiant smile and infectious personality, Destiny touched the lives of many who knew her.

A native of Los Angeles, California, Destiny had aspirations of pursuing a career in dance, which she passionately chased throughout her time at Cal State Fullerton. Her hard work and determination were evident as she successfully earned a spot on the esteemed Titans Dance Team for the 2025-2026 season, marking a significant milestone in her journey.

Her teammates remember her not just for her talent but for being a source of positivity and inspiration. Bella Escabedo, a fellow dance team member, expressed her grief, recalling, “Destiny was determined, dedicated, and a breath of fresh air. She never failed to have a smile on her face.” Bella emphasized the resilience Destiny embodied, which continues to influence her friends and teammates.

In addition to her accomplishments in dance, Destiny was an active member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, joining in the spring of 2025, and contributed creatively to Tusk Magazine as both a writer and model. Her involvement across various facets of campus life exemplifies her vibrant spirit and dedication to her passions.

In honor of Destiny’s memory, the Cal State Fullerton community will hold a special tribute during the Men’s Basketball Big West Conference Home Opener against Cal Poly on December 4 at 7:00 PM, where a moment of silence will take place. The Titans Dance Team, along with Zeta Tau Alpha, issued heartfelt statements, highlighting how Destiny’s joy and presence illuminated every space she entered.

The By Your Side Dance Studio, where Destiny trained, has created a memorial fund through GoFundMe, initiated by studio owner Deborah Perez, to support her memory. An in-person memorial service at the studio is forthcoming, with details expected to be shared later.

For students grappling with grief, CSUF provides various mental health resources through the Counseling and Psychological Services, ensuring support is accessible and confidential.

Destiny’s legacy will live on, as the Titans Dance Team and her friends plan to wear memorial tributes in her honor during upcoming performances. The community’s response has been one of unity in grief and remembrance, proving that her determination and spirit will continue to motivate those around her.

As the campus reflects on Destiny’s impact, her recent successes serve as a poignant reminder of her dreams and the profound mark she left at Cal State Fullerton. The Titans Dance Team, which recently celebrated its 20th National Championship, will carry forward her spirit in every performance, reaffirming their commitment to remember and honor Destiny in all their endeavors.
