Bula FC’s head coach, Stephane Auvary, is urging fans and supporters to exercise patience as the team prepares for its much-anticipated debut in the OFC Pro League next month. As the first professional football club from Fiji to join the regional league, Auvary emphasizes the need for realistic expectations, cautioning that immediate success is unlikely.
Creating a competitive squad will be a gradual endeavor, especially given the presence of several well-established teams in the tournament. Auvary stated, “It’s a work in progress. They’ll have to be patient because we cannot just create a team from scratch and be expected to shine two or three months later. But we are going to do our best – the players and the staff – and we’re going to try to represent Fiji as best as we can.”
This season, the club’s emphasis is on development and acquiring valuable experience rather than chasing instant victories. Auvary has called for supporters to remain behind the team through both successes and challenges in the competitive landscape. He shared a long-term vision for the club, aiming to achieve full competitiveness within three years, offering a positive outlook for fans eager to witness the evolution of football in Fiji. This journey not only signifies a pivotal moment for Bula FC but also for the growth of the sport in the island nation, instilling hope for a bright future in Fijian football.
