As the inaugural OFC Pro League season approaches its launch next month, Bula FC is setting its sights on the competition with realistic expectations, opting for a patient approach over immediate ambitions. As Fiji’s first professional football club, head coach Stephane Auvary emphasizes that the primary goal this season is to gain valuable exposure at a higher level of play.

Auvary recognizes that Bula FC may not be considered one of the top contenders in the league but insists on the significance of learning and player development throughout the season. He believes this experience will be crucial for the squad, allowing them to absorb knowledge that will serve as a foundation for future endeavors.

“This first season is going to be a discovery, a learning phase for the players. We will not be pretentious to say that we are going to play our games and hope to make it to the finals and be the best team in the league. We know there are teams that have existed for a longer time and are more structured. We are in the initial phase, and I hope the players will learn a lot over the next five months,” Auvary stated.

The seasoned coach has also advised his team to keep their focus grounded, highlighting that the OFC Pro League presents a different level of challenge compared to their previous experiences. The anticipation is building as the inaugural season of the OFC Pro League is set to commence on January 17. This venture marks a significant step forward for Bula FC, with hopes that the player’s determination and resilience will lead the club toward long-term success.
