Water services in Brunswick have been successfully restored following two major water main breaks that occurred along Route Two, east of the Hill Creek Tavern. The first break was detected on December 19, while the second break was identified on the following day near Laughing Earth Farms. Town Supervisor Phil Herrington has stepped in to support impacted residents by providing resources, which include access to bottled and potable water. Additionally, a warming station and showers have been made available at Brittonkill Central Schools. Residents can take advantage of these facilities by visiting the school, located at 3992 State Route 2 in Cropseyville, New York, during the designated hours of 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
The initial water main break proved difficult to locate, leading to the loss of approximately 50,000 to 100,000 gallons of water per hour. As of Saturday evening, repair teams continued to work diligently to identify the source of the first break. Officials urge residents to adhere to the boil water advisory until further notice to ensure the quality and safety of their drinking water.
