PROVIDENCE, R.I. –

The upcoming women’s basketball game featuring Brown University will be broadcast live on ESPN+. The Brown Bears, currently holding a record of 12-7 overall and 4-3 in the Ivy League, return to action after a weekend where they split their games against Dartmouth and Harvard. They secured a solid victory against Dartmouth with a score of 55-41, but faced a narrow defeat against Harvard, falling 58-61.

Grace Arnolie and Alyssa Moreland stood out in the victory over Dartmouth, contributing a combined 28 points. The Bears exhibited offensive depth against Harvard as well, with four players—Arnolie (16 points), Beth Nelson (13), Ada Anamekwe (10), and Olivia Young (10)—all finishing in double figures. Throughout the season, Brown has demonstrated significant offensive prowess, recording six games where four or more players have scored in double digits.

Individually, Arnolie has emerged as a key player for the Bears, currently ranking as the second-highest scorer in the Ivy League with an average of 17.9 points per game. She leads the conference in three-point shooting percentage at 36.1% and ranks second in three-point field goals made, averaging 2.4 per game. The Bears’ strength also lies in their defense, as they hold opponents to an average of 55.7 points per game, ranking ninth nationally in field goal percentage defense with adversaries shooting just 34.9% from the field. Remarkably, they have kept opponents to single-digit quarters in 12 of their 19 games this season, highlighting their defensive capabilities.

Brown’s last victory during Super Bowl weekend was on February 11, 2023, when they triumphed over Cornell with a convincing 76-48 score.

On the other side, the Yale Bulldogs enter the matchup having faced tough competition last weekend, dropping both of their games against Harvard and Dartmouth. Despite this, Yale showcased some offensive strength, with four players reaching double figures in scoring against Dartmouth: Ciniya Moore (17 points), Ke’iara Odume (14), Marisa Chapman (13), and Mary Meng (11). Moore ranks third in the Ivy League, averaging 16.7 points per game.

Yale has struggled recently, losing four of their last five games. Their only win in the conference came against Cornell, where they secured a 58-43 victory on January 19.

Historically, Brown has maintained a competitive edge over Yale, holding a 55-46 all-time series lead since their first meeting in 1974. The Bears have won the last five contests against the Bulldogs, including an impressive 88-72 victory last month. When playing at home, Brown boasts a strong record of 32-16 against Yale.

The Brown Bears will host the Yale Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon at the Pizzitola Sports Center, with tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m. The game will also commemorate Brown’s Alumnae Day and National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

The Brown University Sports Foundation (BUSF) plays a vital role in supporting the school’s athletics program, enhancing student-athletes’ experiences through philanthropic contributions. Donations help the Bears excel in academics, athletics, and community involvement.
