The news was originally reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who highlighted that the diagnosis came shortly after the Broncos’ victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football.
Singleton has expressed optimism regarding his health. “The prognosis is excellent for me and my family. For Broncos fans, I fully expect to return to the field very soon,” he stated, reassuring supporters about his recovery.
At 31 years old, Singleton began his professional career as an undrafted free agent with the Seattle Seahawks in 2015. After brief periods with the Seahawks, New England Patriots, and Minnesota Vikings, he played for the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League during the 2016 season. In 2019, he was signed to a futures contract by the Philadelphia Eagles, where he spent the subsequent seasons alternating between the active roster and practice squad.
Following the 2021 season, Singleton signed a one-year contract with the Broncos, who later secured him with a three-year, $18 million deal in 2023. This season, he has demonstrated his skill on the field, appearing in 10 games and notching 89 total tackles, along with three tackles for loss, one sack, one pass defended, and one forced fumble.
