The Denver Broncos face a potential shake-up in their coaching staff as offensive passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb is attracting interest from multiple NFL teams. Webb, who has been pivotal in the development of quarterback Bo Nix, is currently prepping backup Jarrett Stidham for the upcoming AFC Championship game.

The team’s mood shifted dramatically following their thrilling 33-30 victory against the Buffalo Bills, when head coach Sean Payton announced that Nix had suffered a broken bone in his right ankle, ending his season. In light of this injury, Stidham is set to take the reins against the New England Patriots, who secured their place in the championship by defeating the Houston Texans.

Stidham, who has been a backup in Denver for three seasons, will work closely with Webb, who entered coaching in 2023 after a six-year playing career. Despite Webb’s youth at 30, he has already made a name for himself, interviewing for head coaching positions with the Baltimore Ravens and Las Vegas Raiders. Reports indicate that those teams are keen to conduct second interviews with him after the championship game.

Should Webb attain a head coaching position during this cycle, it would signify a rapid ascent for him, highlighting his potential in the coaching realm. Meanwhile, he is not the only sought-after member of the Broncos staff; defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is also receiving attention, having interviewed for several head coaching vacancies.

Payton acknowledged the increased interest in his coaching staff, noting that the change in how interviews are conducted—thanks to the ease of Zoom—has made it more viable for teams to seek out candidates. He expressed support for his coaches pursuing their goals and emphasized that the interest reflects well on the hiring decisions made by the Broncos.

As the Broncos enter a pivotal period with significant challenges ahead, there remains a sense of optimism surrounding their coaching staff and the talent on the team.
