Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix took to social media on Wednesday to express gratitude to fans and teammates following his injury sustained during Saturday’s dramatic divisional playoff victory against the Buffalo Bills. This marks the first public statement from Nix since the intense 33-30 overtime win at Mile High, where he was injured on one of the final plays of the game.

Nix, who is set to undergo surgery for a broken ankle, thanked the medical staff, including his doctor in Alabama, for their support during this challenging time. In his heartfelt Instagram message, he acknowledged his trainers Beau, Vince, and Dr. Waldrop for their exceptional care.

In the aftermath of his injury, Nix was seen walking around on the sideline, a reaction that Dr. Landon Fine, an orthopedic surgeon, explained is typical immediately following a fracture. He described that while initial pain may allow for some mobility, swelling and bleeding later exacerbate the symptoms.

Despite the setback, Nix remains optimistic and connected to his faith, sharing that he feels guided through this recovery process. “God never says oops,” he reflected, also highlighting his belief in the team’s potential, insisting that they have “big plans” ahead.

While Nix will be sidelined for the AFC Championship this weekend, Jarrett Stidham is set to step in as the starting quarterback. Nix voiced his confidence in Stidham, asserting that he believes in his teammate’s abilities as he leads the huddle.

Currently, there is no official timeline for Nix’s return to practice; however, Dr. Fine has estimated that he could be back on the field within a couple of months.

In his poignant social media post, Nix emphasized the unity and resilience of the team, expressing pride in his teammates and an unwavering belief in their journey ahead. His message resonated with hope, as he remarked, “We’re not finished… we’re just getting started. We’re just going to keep climbing higher.”

This sentiment of perseverance and optimism reflects not only Nix’s character but also the spirit of the Broncos as they continue their playoff journey.
