Bills QB Josh Allen Nominated for Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award Ahead of Steelers Clash

The Buffalo Bills, coming off a disappointing Week 12 loss to the Houston Texans, now hold a 7-4 record as they prepare for their upcoming matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who stand at 6-5.

This week, the NFL announced the nominations for the prestigious Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award, which honors players from each team for their exemplary sportsmanship. Representing the Bills is quarterback Josh Allen, one of only four quarterbacks recognized this year. He joins Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys, Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers, and Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams.

Notably, Josh Allen was the 2024 recipient of this award, a testament to his sportsmanship and respect for both teammates and opponents. Over the last decade, he is one of only three quarterbacks to earn this honor, alongside Teddy Bridgewater, who won in 2020, and NFL legend Drew Brees, awarded in 2018. Allen’s recognition last year came on the same night he secured his first MVP award, highlighting his dual impact on the field.

This season, while Allen may not be enjoying another MVP-worthy performance, he continues to demonstrate his skill and productivity. He has completed 69.7% of his passes for a total of 2,709 yards, along with 18 touchdowns and only nine interceptions. He has also contributed significantly on the ground with 70 carries for 371 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns.

As the Bills gear up for their game against the Steelers, Allen’s leadership and sportsmanship will undoubtedly play a crucial role on and off the field.
