Billie Eilish has announced that her highly anticipated 3D concert documentary will be released by Paramount Pictures. The announcement was made on Instagram during the final night of her “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour in San Francisco. The documentary, which Eilish co-directed alongside renowned filmmaker James Cameron, is set to debut in theaters on March 20, 2026, through a collaboration with Darkroom Records, Interscope Films, and Lightstorm Entertainment.
Eilish shared her excitement with fans, describing this tour as one of her favorites and expressing how fulfilling it was to work with James Cameron on the film. “Being able to capture it and co-direct this film has truly been a dream come true,” she said. She added, “Can’t wait for you all to see it.”
The collaboration between Eilish and Cameron was first hinted at during a concert in Manchester last July, where she mentioned working on something “very, very special” that would utilize 3D technology. Eilish teased the audience about the project and her involvement with the acclaimed director, stating, “Basically, I can’t say much about it but what I can say is that I’m working on something very, very special with somebody named James Cameron.”
Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment has previously announced a partnership with Meta to enhance 3D content offerings, including live concerts. This solidifies the trend of blending music and innovative technology, bringing new experiences to audiences.
Eilish, a two-time Oscar and nine-time Grammy winner, has a history of successful films, including her documentary “Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry” and the concert film “Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles.” With this new documentary, fans eagerly await the unique perspective it promises to deliver through its 3D format.
