A shocking incident has unfolded in Bengaluru with the reported suicide of CJ Roy, the owner of Confident Group, inside his office near Richmond Circle. The tragic event took place amidst ongoing Income Tax raids which were seemingly placing significant stress on Roy.

According to reports, Roy shot himself in his chamber during the tax inspections. In the immediate aftermath, local police seized the firearm used in the incident and launched a thorough investigation. They are currently examining CCTV footage from his office, including the critical moments leading up to the tragic act, to gather more context on what transpired.

Investigators are meticulously combing through Roy’s office for any personal notes or messages that might offer insights into his state of mind. Additionally, law enforcement is scrutinizing his digital devices, including his mobile phone and social media accounts, to ensure there were no outside pressures or communications contributing to the incident.

The investigation is under the direct supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Akshay, with assistance from the local Scene of Crime Officers. This level of scrutiny reflects the seriousness with which authorities are treating this matter, especially given the circumstances surrounding the Income Tax operations.

Prior to the tragedy, the Income Tax department had already seized numerous documents from the Confident Group, transporting them in multiple vehicles as part of their investigation. It is reported that the pressure from these inspections escalated just before Roy took his life.

Emergency services were called to the scene immediately after the incident, and despite receiving prompt medical attention, CJ Roy could not be saved. Following his death, the police have suspended the Income Tax operations at the office, redirecting their focus to thoroughly reconstruct the events leading to this heartbreaking outcome.

As the investigation progresses, there is hope that a clearer understanding of the pressures that led to this incident may emerge, ultimately aiming to prevent such tragedies in the future.
