Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger recently shared a heartfelt message with fans during his induction into the Steelers Hall of Honor Class of 2025 at Acrisure Stadium. The ceremony took place on May 21, 2024, as part of a celebrity flag football game event.
Expressing his deep appreciation, Roethlisberger stated, “Steelers Nation, the best fans in all of sports, I’m so thankful I got to play in front of you for 18 years. I could never imagine putting on any other uniform than the black and gold.” He emphasized his dedication to the team and its supporters, saying he wanted to win for them, acknowledging their passion and commitment to the Steelers. “Y’all bleed for us and I wanted to bleed for you. Thank you for all of your support. I will always bleed black and gold,” he concluded.
Roethlisberger, drafted in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft, spent 18 remarkable seasons with the Steelers, becoming the player with the most games played in franchise history at 249. Under his leadership, the team secured 12 postseason berths, eight AFC North championships, made five AFC Championship game appearances, and clinched two Super Bowl victories. Notably, he became the youngest quarterback to win a Super Bowl at just 23 years old during Super Bowl XL, and the second-youngest to win a second title at Super Bowl XLIII.
Throughout his career, Roethlisberger recorded an impressive 64,088 passing yards and 418 passing touchdowns, along with adding 1,373 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns. He is joined by former linebacker Joey Porter Sr. and center Maurkice Pouncey as fellow inductees in the Hall of Honor Class of 2025.
Fans will have the opportunity to celebrate Roethlisberger, Porter, and Pouncey during an upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football, marking a joyous occasion for both the inductees and the passionate Steelers Nation.
