This Christmas, the BBC is set to delight audiences with a diverse range of festive programming across both television and radio, aimed at fostering joy, reflection, and celebration during the holiday season. Daisy Scalchi, Head of Commissioning for Religion and Ethics at BBC Television, expressed her anticipation for the special lineup, inviting viewers to relax and enjoy the array of uplifting content with a mince pie.

Among the highlights on BBC One, the fourth series of “My Life at Christmas” will feature intimate interviews hosted by Anita Rani, who will delve into the Christmas memories of celebrities such as Sir Rod Stewart, Penny Lancaster, Ade Adepitan, and Dame Floella Benjamin. The programming also includes live broadcasts of Midnight Mass from Our Lady of the Assumption and the English Martyrs in Cambridge, and an engaging Christmas Morning service from Bradford Cathedral that reflects the city’s cultural diversity as the UK City of Culture 2025.

“Songs of Praise” will continue to offer festive programs, including a Christmas Celebration from Victoria Hall in Bolton, featuring Aled Jones and various guest performers. The eagerly awaited “Carols from King’s” will contribute to the Christmas atmosphere, taking place in the iconic Chapel at King’s College, Cambridge, known for its magical setting and traditional carols.

On BBC Radio, listeners can expect a rich variety of seasonal programming. Radio 4 will present special worship moments, including a Christmas Day Service from Leeds Cathedral and a special edition of “Thought for the Day.” Radio 3 will invite audiences on a musical journey with “Carols Across the Country,” showcasing local talent and festive traditions from across the UK.

The BBC Radio local stations will unite to deliver a nationwide seasonal service led by Rev. Frances Finn, highlighting community spirit, kindness, and shared stories that embody the true essence of Christmas.
