Erika Eleniak, best remembered for her role as Shauni McLain in the iconic series “Baywatch” from 1989 to 1992, has undergone a striking transformation over the past three decades. The 56-year-old actress has traded her signature red swimsuit for a more edgy aesthetic, leaving fans surprised yet admiring her new look, which features an array of tattoos, including designs on her hands.
In a recent appearance on the “Still Here Hollywood” podcast with Steve Kmetko, Erika shared her journey of self-expression through body art. She emphasized that each of her tattoos holds personal significance, pointing out one in particular, an iris flower, which serves as a tribute to her late mother. “I love that my body is a canvas to tell my stories,” she remarked, reflecting on her longstanding passion for tattoos that began in her late twenties, shortly after she departed from “Baywatch.”
Erika’s illustrious career path began well before her time on “Baywatch.” She gained recognition as a Hollywood pinup and made her film debut in Steven Spielberg’s acclaimed movie “E.T.” in 1982. Following her role in the film, she became a Playboy Playmate and dived back into acting with various television roles, including appearances in “Silver Spoons” and “Boys Will Be Boys.” She also starred in notable films such as “The Blob,” “Under Siege,” and “A Pyromaniac’s Love Story.”
While acting appears to be less frequent in her repertoire nowadays, Erika recently completed filming for the dark comedy “Lolipop Gang,” which is set to release in 2024. Additionally, she has wrapped up another film project titled “Alchemy In Venice,” although details about its release remain under wraps.
Born in Glendale, California, in 1969, Erika has established a fulfilling personal life. She married Roch Daigle in 2005 and relocated to Calgary, where they raise their daughter, Indyanna, born in 2006. Before her current marriage, Erika was briefly married to author Philip Goglia and was also engaged to her “Baywatch” co-star, Billy Warlock.
With her vibrant tattoos and evolving persona, Erika Eleniak continues to capture the attention and admiration of her fans, proving that life after “Baywatch” showcases her growth and creativity in unique ways.
