Daniel Juan has emerged as an unexpected contender in FC Barcelona’s presidential race, presenting his candidacy with a modest approach. Arriving at the Auditori 1899 in an Opel Zafira, the 39-year-old from La Bisbal d’Empordà filed only 84 supporting signatures, significantly fewer than the required 2,337, as reported by Superdeporte.

Juan, who works as an administrative assistant, has been a member of the club since November 2006, holding membership number 70.761. He previously supported Joan Laporta in the last election but has indicated that he will cast his vote differently this time, on March 15.

In comments to Jijantes, Juan admitted that his campaign lacks the financial resources of other candidates and expressed gratitude to his supporters. He outlined his intent to address what he perceives as mismanagement within the club, suggesting that there are key decisions that lack transparency. He also criticized the removal of the singing section and voiced concerns about the information provided regarding the timeline for returning to Camp Nou.

As a passionate fan, Juan has witnessed some of the club’s greatest triumphs, including the Champions League finals in 2011 against Manchester United and in 2015 against Juventus, as well as multiple Copa del Rey finals. His candidacy, while not backed by vast resources, reflects a grassroots spirit aimed at driving change within the club’s operations.

This campaign highlights the voices of devoted fans who aspire to make significant contributions to the future of FC Barcelona.
