Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort in Aruba has achieved another significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to sustainability by earning Green Globe recertification, marking over 20 years of exemplary environmental performance. This carbon-neutral resort remains unique as the only hotel globally to have received perfect 100 percent scores from Green Globe and continues to maintain its prestigious Platinum status, which recognizes long-term excellence in environmental, social, and economic practices.

Recognized as “The World’s Most Sustainable Hotel/Resort” by Green Globe, Bucuti & Tara’s recent recertification was confirmed through a meticulous remote audit that verified the resort’s adherence to international sustainability standards.

Sustainability has been integral to Bucuti & Tara’s operations since its inception, characterized by effective initiatives in energy efficiency, water management, waste reduction, ethical sourcing, employee education, biodiversity protection, and community engagement. Across almost four decades, the resort has launched over 400 sustainability initiatives. Its certifications include CarbonNeutral®, LEED Gold, and Travelife Gold, underscoring its alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Among its latest advancements, the resort’s Elements Restaurant has transitioned to a fully electric kitchen, eliminating the use of gas and reducing energy consumption by 18 percent. By 2026, Bucuti & Tara plans to complete the transition of its laundry facilities to fully electric systems, thus eliminating gas usage on the property and moving toward Net Zero certification for its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by the same year.

The resort is also dedicated to environmental preservation beyond its beachfront, working on the Bucuti Tara–GMC Nature Preserve, a 32-acre area earmarked for reforestation and habitat restoration. The resort’s partnership with Ban Lanta y Planta has resulted in the planting of its 1,200th tree in 2025, an initiative aimed at bolstering biodiversity and combating carbon emissions.

Additionally, Bucuti & Tara has made strides in animal welfare through its Stimami Sterilisami program, which has facilitated 46,352 pet sterilizations islandwide since 2016, fully subsidizing procedures for the community.

Globally, Bucuti & Tara has garnered recognition, ranking as the No. 5 Hotel in the World and the No. 1 Hotel in the Caribbean on Tripadvisor. Its oceanfront dining venue, Elements, is celebrated as the No. 1 Best Fine Dining Restaurant in the Caribbean.

Nestled on the pristine shores of Eagle Beach, a sea turtle nesting area, Bucuti & Tara boasts 104 rooms, suites, and penthouses. The resort provides guaranteed sunbeds, a freshwater infinity pool, spa services, and a transparent pricing model that includes accommodations, taxes, daily breakfast, WiFi, in-room tablets, EV chargers, parking, and local calls. Culinary offerings revolve around locally sourced ingredients, with highlights including the launch of Terra by Jeremy Ford in October 2025, featuring the acclaimed Michelin Star chef’s dishes inspired by Aruban ingredients and local partnerships.
