Recently, Army Green secured a significant victory at the Wairiki 7s, defeating Police Blue in the cup final with a score of 21-5. This triumph has further cemented their status as a formidable contender in the tournament.
Following Army Green in the rankings are the Kasabias Village Boys, holding the second position with 2070.95 points, while Y-Is Kava Vacalea stands in third place with 1750.85 points. The competition is intense, with Police Blue in fourth at 1659.1 points and the Pegasus Brothers trailing closely in fifth with 1629.6 points. Noteworthy teams also include SR Amica, currently sixth with 1443.05 points, and Wardens Gold in seventh with 1330.1 points. The Loloma Heights team from Urata ranks eighth with 1315 points, and the standings conclude with Lavena Redz from Taveuni and the Bula Brothers in ninth and tenth places, recording 1210 points and 993.05 points, respectively.
As the tournament heads to Ganilau Park in Savusavu, local teams from Vanua Levu are anticipated to shine, leveraging their home advantage in pursuit of better rankings in the series. Pita Ralaca, the tournament organizer, emphasized the community’s enthusiasm and the vital support provided by Fiji Bitter, which has been instrumental in maintaining the event’s status as a premier sporting highlight on the island.
