Armed Georgia Fugitive on the Run After Daring Hospital Escape

Authorities in Georgia are on high alert as they search for Timothy Shane, a 52-year-old fugitive who is considered to be armed and dangerous following his daring escape from custody. Shane had been taken to Grady Hospital in Atlanta for a medical evaluation after a reported suicide attempt when he evaded law enforcement early Monday morning.

According to the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office, Shane was able to flee the hospital shortly after 1:20 a.m. He initially escaped on foot, then allegedly stole an SUV parked nearby. After crashing that vehicle, he continued his escape on foot. It was reported that the owner of the stolen SUV noticed a Glock handgun missing from the vehicle, raising concerns about Shane’s potential threat to the public.

In a twist to his escape, Shane managed to request an Uber from a residence in south Rockdale. Unfortunately for the authorities, by the time they arrived at the location, he had already departed, leaving them puzzled about how he managed to summon the ride service during his flight.

The search for Shane intensified when deputies discovered that he had subsequently stolen a Pontiac Grand Prix, which was later located at a Publix supermarket in Henry County on Highway 155. Authorities remain uncertain whether he has stolen another vehicle or if he is still within that vicinity.

Timothy Shane is described as standing 5-foot-9 with a buzzed haircut. Law enforcement officials emphasize that he has a history of fleeing apprehension and has been charged with felony drug and weapon offenses, making him a priority target for capture. Authorities warn the community to remain vigilant and report any sightings, as the search for this dangerous fugitive continues.
