Embark Studios has rolled out the Shrouded Sky update for ARC Raiders, marking a significant update for the game in 2026 thus far. This update introduces two new ARC enemies, a ‘Hurricane’ map condition, new quests, and an expanded area on the popular Dam Battlegrounds map.

However, this update does not solely focus on new content. One notable change is the removal of PvP-focused Feats, which were challenges aimed at dealing damage to other players using specific ammunition types. The reason behind this decision remains unclear, leading to speculation about the future direction of the game.

The removal of these PvP Feats suggests a shift towards a more PvE-centric gameplay experience. Embark Studios has clarified in their patch notes that while they have removed PvP Feats, they have also updated existing Feats and added new ones, still maintaining the core feature that allows players to complete micro-challenges to earn in-game credits for the Raider Deck. Unlike typical battle passes, this progression system is entirely free.

Previously, players could engage in challenges like “Damage Raiders with Light Ammo” or “Search Knocked Out Raiders,” which fostered a more competitive PvP atmosphere. However, with the PvP Feats gone, players may find fewer incentives to engage with other players in combat, potentially altering the game’s dynamics and reducing its PvP appeal.

Additionally, Embark Studios has introduced a feature allowing players to re-roll their Feats for free up to three times a day, giving them a chance to explore different challenges that might better suit their playstyle.

The removal of PvP-focused Feats raises questions about the future direction of ARC Raiders. Players have long engaged in debates about whether ARC Raiders is primarily a PvP game, and this change contributes a new layer to that ongoing discussion. Whether this shift is a temporary measure, an experiment, or part of a strategic overhaul remains to be seen.

Fans of the game are invited to share their thoughts on the changes through the Insider Gaming Discord server, and as the gaming community continues to evolve, it may be encouraging to see how Embark Studios adapts and responds to player feedback in future updates.
