In addition to air travel, Apple has plans to expand the use of digital IDs for age verification purposes at various businesses, further enhancing the functionality of the Wallet app. This feature was initially introduced with iOS 16 and now extends the range of supported government IDs, which already includes driver’s licenses and state IDs in 12 states and Puerto Rico; however, these forms of ID will not be valid for air travel since they do not meet Real ID standards.
