The ANZ Banking Group is set to enhance its internet and mobile banking services, aiming for improved speed and efficiency when transferring funds to Vodafone’s M-PAiSA digital wallets. Starting January 15, 2024, customers will be required to use the Transfers tab for all transactions to the M-PAiSA platform through ANZ’s internet banking and the ANZ Pacific app.

Rabih Yazbek, the country head for ANZ Fiji, announced that the previous bill payment option facilitating these transfers will be phased out, marking the end of its availability for M-PAiSA transactions. This adjustment is part of ANZ’s efforts to maximize the potential of the national payment system, which will enhance the overall customer experience by ensuring quicker processing times for transfers.

“This simplified process means M-PAiSA transfers will be processed faster, getting funds into our customers’ wallets,” Yazbek stated. He urged customers who frequently use M-PAiSA to familiarize themselves with the new steps associated with the Transfers tab prior to the changeover date.

Digital banking continues to play a critical role in ANZ’s strategy for improving financial accessibility throughout the Pacific region. The ANZ Pacific app and internet banking services are designed to address geographical and infrastructure challenges, particularly benefiting users in remote locations. The bank is committed to consistently reviewing and enhancing its services to align with customer needs.

To initiate a transfer, customers can log in to either their internet banking or ANZ Pacific app, select the Transfers tab, choose local banks, input the recipient’s mobile number or select a saved recipient, enter the desired amount, and confirm the payment to complete the transaction. This streamlined approach is expected to make banking more convenient and accessible for ANZ customers.
