Families in Lynchburg can now savor a new dining experience with the grand opening of Longhorn Steakhouse, which was celebrated on Monday afternoon by Managing Partner Matt Burrus. This marks the first Longhorn location in Lynchburg, expanding the popular restaurant’s reach beyond its original establishment in Atlanta, Georgia, which has been serving customers since 1981.
Burrus, who has dedicated 22 years to the Longhorn brand, expressed excitement for the community, noting a persistent demand for a local steakhouse. “I worked in the location in Roanoke, and many people from Lynchburg would come up and ask when we were getting a Longhorn back in Lynchburg,” he shared. He emphasized the restaurant’s readiness to provide a premier dining experience for residents.
Since its opening, Longhorn Steakhouse has already collaborated with local institutions such as Liberty University and the Hillcats Baseball Team, engaging with the community right from the start. The restaurant offers signature dishes that diners can look forward to, including their famed outlaw ribeye steak, a hearty 20-ounce bone-in ribeye served with a choice of salad. For those seeking alternatives, the parmesan-crusted chicken has also garnered popularity.
Located on Wards Road in the former O’Charley’s building, Longhorn Steakhouse operates Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and extends its hours on Fridays and Saturdays until 11 p.m. The addition of Longhorn Steakhouse not only enhances the local dining scene but also reflects the growing demand for diverse culinary options within the community.
