The Minnesota Wild have made a move to bolster their roster by claiming forward Robby Fabbri off waivers from the St. Louis Blues. Fabbri, who is a pending unrestricted free agent, carries a cap hit of $775,000 this season. The 30-year-old veteran has had a challenging season, participating in only 15 games, where he managed to record one goal and three assists. Additionally, during a brief stint in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers, he scored one goal and added one assist in three games. Over his career, Fabbri has accumulated 107 goals and 113 assists in 457 games with the Blues, Detroit Red Wings, and Anaheim Ducks, showcasing his experience and offensive capabilities.

In related news from the NHL, Edmonton Oilers players Andrew Mangiapane and Alec Regula have cleared waivers and are eligible for assignment to the AHL. Mangiapane, who has played 52 games this season and recorded seven goals and 14 points, signed a two-year, $7.2 million contract with the Oilers this past summer. Despite this signing, his current performance has limited his trade value. If sent to the AHL, the Oilers will save $1.15 million in cap space.

Regula, a 6-foot-4 defenseman, has also struggled this season with 29 games played, contributing three points and a -16 plus/minus rating. He carries a similar cap hit of $775,000 and was previously claimed off waivers by the Oilers from the Boston Bruins in December 2024.

Additionally, Vancouver Canucks defenseman Guillaume Brisebois cleared waivers on the same day and will be assigned to the AHL. The 28-year-old has not seen any action in either the NHL or AHL this season and has accumulated one goal and two assists in his 30-game NHL career.

These roster adjustments exemplify teams’ strategies to manage their cap space and optimize their lineups as the season progresses. The movement of players reflects ongoing adjustments in the league, with opportunities for a fresh start for those claiming waivers.
