The Washington Huskies are actively seeking to bolster their wide receiver corps through the transfer portal, turning their attention to promising Ohio State target Quincy Porter. As football programs ramp up their recruitment efforts, the 6-foot-4, 210-pound freshman has emerged as one of the top available talents, with Washington being named among several contenders for his services.

Quincy Porter, who ranked as the No. 23 overall prospect and No. 4 wide receiver in the 2025 class by the 247Sports Composite, has now transitioned to the transfer portal, where he stands at No. 39 overall and ranks ninth among wide receivers according to the same site. His potential move comes after he recorded four catches for 59 yards during his first season with the Buckeyes, while also preserving his redshirt by participating in just four games.

Porter entered the portal following the departure of Ohio State’s offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach, Brian Hartline, who took the head coach position at South Florida. This change in coaching staff prompted Porter to explore new opportunities, and Washington’s head coach Jedd Fisch, along with position coach Kevin Cummings, are keen to find a suitable replacement for Denzel Boston, who is departing for the NFL.

Several other programs, including Auburn, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee, South Carolina, and UCLA, are also interested in signing Porter, which indicates high demand for his skills. If he chooses Washington, Porter would be joining a young and talented receiving core that includes Freshman All-American Dezmen Roebuck, sophomore Chris Lawson, and a group of four-star incoming freshmen.

Despite his limited experience, Porter’s size and athleticism make him a strong candidate to meet the Huskies’ needs. His ability to perform in 50-50 situations, combined with his speed and body control, positions him as a valuable asset for Washington’s offense moving forward. If he successfully integrates into the team, he could solidify the Huskies’ receiving threats as they transition into a new chapter with a young quarterback and a dynamic group of wide receivers.

This potential recruitment not only highlights Porter’s individual prospects but also reflects Washington’s commitment to strengthening its roster and remaining competitive in collegiate football. The pursuit of a talent like Porter suggests an optimistic outlook for the upcoming season, as the Huskies continue to build a formidable team.
