The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has announced that the Wainibau Bridge on Baulevu Road will be temporarily closed for major repairs this weekend. The closure is set to begin at 8:00 PM on Saturday, February 14, and will last until 5:00 AM on Sunday, February 15, 2025. During this time, the bridge will undergo a full deck replacement along with other necessary maintenance work.
Motorists are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid delays. To ensure public safety, a vehicle will be positioned at the Nausori end of the bridge to assist anyone in case of emergencies.
The FRA has emphasized that the planned works are contingent upon favorable weather conditions. If adverse weather occurs, the repairs may be postponed. The authority urges the public to be patient and cooperative as vital upgrades are completed, ultimately contributing to safer travel for all.
