The Minnesota Twins have officially claimed infielder Vidal Brujan off waivers from the Atlanta Braves, enhancing their roster with the addition of a versatile switch hitter. Brujan, who is 27 years old, brings significant major league experience, having played for five different teams over five seasons since he debuted with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2021.

In the 2025 season, Brujan had a batting average of .253, contributing 14 runs and eight RBIs across 61 games. His playing time during the year was divided among the Braves, Baltimore Orioles, and Chicago Cubs. Prior to that, he spent the 2024 season with the Miami Marlins.

Hailing from the Dominican Republic, Brujan has accumulated a career batting average of .199 with a .267 on-base percentage. Over 262 major league games, he has scored 76 runs and stolen 16 bases. Brujan’s defensive capabilities are notable, as he has primarily played at second base and shortstop but is also experienced in playing third base and all outfield positions.

To accommodate Brujan on the 40-man roster, the Twins designated catcher and infielder Mickey Gasper for release or assignment. Gasper had appeared in 45 games for the Twins during the last season.

This strategic move highlights the Twins’ focus on fortifying their lineup with flexible players, and Brujan’s potential could provide valuable depth as the team looks to improve in the upcoming season.
