Former Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has boldly reiterated his commitment to justice, emphasizing his steadfast belief in dignity and principles during challenging times. In a recent conversation with New Zealand’s Radio Tarana, he articulated his refusal to succumb to oppression, asserting that standing firm against injustice is paramount.

“You never bow down in the face of injustice. You never bow down to oppression, and you never lower your dignity, but you must always maintain and speak the truth,” he declared, reinforcing his conviction that struggles only serve to strengthen one’s resolve.

Sayed-Khaiyum placed significant importance on upholding values and principles, stating, “Now, more than ever before, I am affirmed in my values and principles, and I believe that ultimately, the truth will always prevail, irrespective of any injustice that may take place – false charges, political charges, or name-calling on social media.”

He cited his faith and family as vital sources of resilience, recognizing their role in his personal strength. Touching upon the fleeting nature of material possessions, he noted, “You don’t take anything with you. The only things that remain are your faith and the good deeds you leave behind—deeds that continue to benefit others even after you are gone.”

Sayed-Khaiyum’s powerful message resonates with optimism and serves as a reminder of the profound impact of integrity and the significance of one’s actions in times of adversity. He inspires others to view challenges as opportunities to reaffirm and uphold their core beliefs, reinforcing the notion that justice and truth ultimately prevail.
