Iowane Teba has received the go-ahead to compete in the upcoming Perth 7s after successfully rejoining training with the Fiji Airways Fiji men’s 7s squad. Head coach Osea Kolinisau confirmed that Teba participated fully in scrimmage sessions this week, showing no signs of discomfort from the injury he endured during the Singapore tournament.
“Teba ran again yesterday in a scrimmage session. He’s full-on running 100 percent. Teba is good to go this week, which is great news for us,” Kolinisau remarked, reassuring fans of Teba’s readiness for the challenges ahead.
In addition to Teba’s return, Kolinisau expressed that the entire squad is in good health, with only minor injury concerns as they prepare for another demanding leg of the series. Following a successful title win in Singapore last week, the coach encouraged Fiji fans, saying, “Keep supporting the boys and keep praying for them,” as they look to carry their momentum into Perth.
The Fiji men’s 7s team will kick off their pool games at the Perth 7s against Argentina at 4:20 PM, followed by a match against Spain at 7:36 PM, and will wrap up their pool stage with a clash against South Africa at 10:52 PM. Fans can follow all the action live on FBC TV.
