Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker will sit out the upcoming match against the Miami Heat due to a right ankle sprain. Jalen Green is also uncertain to play after re-injuring his right hamstring during a recent game.

Both players have been confirmed inactive for the Suns’ rematch with the Heat on January 25, following their injuries sustained in a 110-103 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on January 23. Booker is set to be re-evaluated in a week, as mentioned by the team. Meanwhile, Green remains day-to-day as he manages his hamstring injury.

In the game against Atlanta, Booker suffered his injury late in the third quarter when he stepped on the foot of Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu. He did not return to the game and had to use crutches to leave the arena. Although his absence is a blow for the team, he has been consistently performing at a high level, averaging 25.4 points and 6.2 assists this season. The team has struggled without him, holding a 1-3 record during games he has missed this season.

“I know he bounces back incredibly fast,” said Suns coach Jordan Ott about Booker’s determination. Suns player Mark Williams echoed this sentiment, highlighting the impact Booker has on the team, referring to him as “our literal No. 1.”

On the other hand, Jalen Green also left the game against Atlanta with a hamstring issue. This marks a frustrating phase for Green, who was only recently returning from a 33-game absence due to a prior hamstring injury. His teammate Jordan Goodwin expressed the team’s resolve to adapt to these challenges, emphasizing the need for other players to step up during this time.

Despite the setbacks, the Suns remain optimistic about overcoming these injuries. The situation underscores the unpredictable nature of sports, yet the team’s spirit and adaptability could prove crucial as they navigate this challenging phase.
