The Phoenix Suns will wrap up a two-game homestand on January 4 as they take on the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder at the Mortgage Matchup Center. The matchup is set to start at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast live on 3TV and Arizona’s Family Sports.

Coming off a convincing 129-102 victory against the Sacramento Kings, the Suns hold a record of 20 wins and 14 losses this season. Meanwhile, the Thunder are rolling with an impressive 30-5 record after dominating the Golden State Warriors with a 131-94 win on the same day.

Despite the Suns’ efforts, they have struggled against the Thunder this season, suffering two defeats during previous encounters in Oklahoma City. The last victory for Phoenix against Oklahoma City was on April 2, 2023, when they won 128-118. The Thunder have since extended their winning streak against the Suns to eight games.

In terms of player availability, the Suns may be without Grayson Allen, who is managing a right knee injury and has missed the last eight games. Jalen Green is ruled out with a right hamstring strain. However, Jordan Goodwin, who has been dealing with a jaw sprain, is expected to play wearing a protective mask.

The Thunder will also face injury challenges, with Isaiah Hartenstein (right soleus strain) and Jaylin Williams (right heel bursitis) unavailable. Additionally, Cason Wallace (right knee soreness) and Isaiah Joe (left knee soreness) are listed as questionable for the game.

Fans will be eager to see if the Suns can break their losing streak against a formidable Thunder team. The upcoming game promises to be an exciting clash as both teams look to solidify their standings in the competitive NBA landscape.
