Melbourne Storm has officially extended the contract of Fiji Bati captain Tui Kamikamica for another season, ensuring that the experienced forward will stay with the club until the end of the 2026 NRL season. This one-year extension highlights Kamikamica’s significant contributions to the team since his debut in 2017.

Kamikamica, recognized as Storm player number 181, has made 138 appearances for the club, proving his worth as a consistent and reliable player within Craig Bellamy’s squad. He has reached the milestone of over 20 matches in each of the past three seasons and was particularly impressive in 2025, participating in 24 games. His leadership skills are underlined by his inclusion in the Storm leadership group for the past two years and his role as captain for the Fiji Bati since 2023, where he has earned 23 international caps.

In his reflections on renewing his contract, Kamikamica conveyed his appreciation and enthusiasm for continuing his career with Melbourne. He emphasized the significance of the club in his journey, stating, “Storm was the first club to give me an opportunity to play NRL. It has always been an honour to wear the purple jersey, and I’m excited to remain in Melbourne for 2026 and continue playing alongside my teammates.”

Frank Ponissi, the Storm’s Director of Football, praised Kamikamica’s long-standing contributions, noting his crucial presence both on and off the field. His commitment and leadership are integral to the Storm’s ambitions as they prepare for upcoming challenges while aiming to build on their previous successes. Kamikamica’s renewed contract not only strengthens the team’s outlook for the forthcoming season but also underscores the club’s faith in his ability to make a positive impact on the game.
