Ono-I-Lau Sixers emerged victorious in the 2025/26 Suva Women’s League final held on Saturday at Albert Park, Suva, dethroning the Nausori Majidez by 22 runs. Under the leadership of captain Ilisapeci Waqavakatoga, the Sixers demonstrated exceptional skill, with Waqavakatoga contributing significantly by scoring 53 runs and taking three wickets.
Cilia Lewatu further cemented the team’s triumph with a commendable performance, scoring 36 runs and claiming five wickets. Despite valiant efforts from Akosita Levaci and Jasvil Rokoro, who scored 21 and 17 runs for the Majidez respectively, their team struggled to contend with the Sixers’ strong performance in the first innings.
Sitiveni Rokoro, the chief executive officer, praised both teams for their exemplary display, emphasizing the increasing talent and competitiveness within Fijian cricket. He expressed his appreciation for the support from Cricket Fiji’s fans and families, noting the critical importance of continual growth and improvement in the sport.
