Self-reflection is critical for successful leadership, according to Ana Laqeretabua, a partner at the Leaders LEAD Symposium taking place in Nadi. Speaking to attendees, Laqeretabua stressed the necessity of intentional self-reflection for leaders to better understand their identity and leadership styles.

Acknowledging the demanding nature of leadership roles, she highlighted the importance of setting aside time for reflection to ensure that their influence on communities remains positive. “Our vision is for people-centred, values-based leadership, but it’s also for leadership that’s lived — that we don’t just talk about leadership, we live it. And if we’re doing that, then we’re showing how we’re doing it. That’s part of why this was set up,” she articulated.

The three-day symposium is designed to empower leaders by helping them acknowledge their responsibilities and refine their leadership approaches. Laqeretabua underscored that effective leadership entails significant responsibilities, making continuous personal and professional growth essential for those committed to leading successfully.

She urged participants to fully engage with the symposium’s lessons and implement them in ways that can positively impact society, contributing to a brighter future through thoughtful and engaged leadership. The symposium not only serves as a platform for discussions but also aims to inspire actionable changes in leadership practices, fostering a community of leaders dedicated to meaningful societal contributions.
