South Dakota State University (SDSU) is set to close out its calendar year in the state with a highly anticipated matchup against Wyoming on Monday evening at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. and comes on the heels of two consecutive wins for the Jackrabbits.

SDSU recently triumphed 68-64 over Ball State in a historic game, marking the first competition between the two programs. They followed this up with a dominating 94-62 victory against Dakota Wesleyan. In that game, the Jackrabbits initially found themselves trailing 23-13 midway through the first half. However, they responded with a remarkable 21-1 scoring run, taking control of the game and displaying impressive season-high statistics, including 35 field goals made, a field goal percentage of 55.6%, 51 rebounds, and 24 assists.

Several players have stepped up for the Jackrabbits recently, including their standout sophomore center, who has been a consistent scoring threat. Over the last four games, he has averaged 14.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game, shooting an impressive 64.9% from the field. Another key player, a junior, achieved a season-high 20 points against Dakota Wesleyan and has averaged 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds over the past week. A sophomore teammate has also contributed significantly, scoring in double digits in three of his last four games and setting personal bests in rebounds and assists during the last outing.

Despite their recent momentum, SDSU will look to turn the tides against Wyoming, a team they’ve struggled against historically. The Jackrabbits have faced the Cowboys six times in their history, securing just one win, which occurred back in 2009. Wyoming currently boasts an 8-2 record, including a perfect 8-0 at home, and they lead the Mountain West Conference. The Cowboys have shown remarkable offensive firepower, averaging 88 points per game and scoring over 90 points in three of their last four outings. They are coming off a decisive victory against South Dakota, where they won 106-79.

Fans can catch all the action of Monday’s game, which will be televised on Midco Sports and streamed online. Live stats will also be available through Sanford Pentagon’s statistics platform, and Jackrabbit fans can listen to the game via the Jackrabbit Sports Network. For ongoing updates, followers can keep track of the program on social media or visit the official SDSU athletics website. This matchup promises to be an exciting end to the year for the Jackrabbits and their supporters.
