Joe Rogan recently defended former Vice President Kamala Harris during an episode of his popular podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” after a guest expressed skepticism about her ability to handle an interview as lengthy as the three-hour discussion Rogan had with President Trump in October 2024.

In a conversation with comedian James McCann, Rogan took issue with the assertion that Harris would have struggled with an extended sit-down format. McCann highlighted Harris’s difficulties in a brief six-minute interview on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” earlier this year, suggesting she might not manage a longer discourse effectively.

Rogan countered that Harris would have been capable of engaging in a meaningful conversation, saying, “Well, she could have — she could have done it.” He emphasized that her potential ability to perform in such an interview would not have been hindered by the format. According to Rogan, late-night shows impose significant constraints due to time limits and commercial breaks, which can stifle in-depth discussions. He argued, “If you’re going to have a really important conversation with someone, you don’t want to do it with a f—ing audience.”

The conversation highlighted that while Harris never appeared on the podcast, both she and Rogan have attributed the absence of an interview to differing reasons. Rogan claimed he provided an open invitation for Harris to join his show, but negotiations fell through when her team attempted to impose conditions, such as limiting the discussion to one hour and requiring her handlers to be present. Rogan mentioned that her campaign wanted him to travel to her, as opposed to recording in his studio in Texas, a request he found less feasible.

On the other hand, Harris’s former aides have indicated in a book that a date for the interview had been set but was canceled at the last minute due to Rogan’s unavailability; interestingly, this incident occurred on the same day he interviewed Trump. Rogan, however, has refuted this claim, insisting that he did not mislead Harris and noting that booking Trump was a straightforward process without any entanglements.

Rogan’s endorsement of Trump adds another layer to the unfolding dynamics as the 2024 election approaches, making discussions about political figures and their media appearances increasingly relevant in the current landscape.
