The status of Commissioner Northern Uraia Rainima remains uncertain following a recent health issue that saw him hospitalized. Minister for Rural and Maritime Development, Mosese Bulitavu, shared that Mr. Rainima has since been admitted and discharged, but it is unclear if he will return to his official duties.
Minister Bulitavu expressed confidence in Mr. Rainima’s capabilities, highlighting that he still has much to contribute to the Northern Division and is committed to fulfilling the objectives he established when he took office.
In the meantime, the position of divisional planning officer is currently occupied by a staff member on an acting basis, as the Minister indicated that the decision on the commissioner’s future will be left to the appropriate authorities.
The situation underscores the importance of effective leadership in the Northern Division as the community awaits further updates regarding Mr. Rainima’s possible return.
