The trade buzz surrounding Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby has gained momentum as interested teams were recently informed of the asking price: two first-round picks along with an additional player. As teams evaluate their options, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been considered a potential suitor.

Rick Stroud from the Tampa Bay Times examined the likelihood of the Buccaneers pursuing Crosby over the weekend, weighing the pros and cons of such a significant trade. Historically, Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht has been hesitant to part with draft picks, and the team’s track record in acquiring edge rushers has been lackluster. Recent additions like Haason Reddick, who struggled significantly during the 2025 season after signing a one-year, $14 million contract, have not met expectations. Currently, YaYa Diaby stands as the primary pass rusher, while Tampa Bay remains hopeful about David Walker, a promising fourth-round pick from 2025 who suffered a torn ACL early in training camp.

Despite the doubts presented in Stroud’s analysis regarding the Buccaneers executing a trade, he also hints at the possibility, noting that “fortune does favor the bold at times.” If Crosby becomes available, the dynamics of the trade could shift, especially with the Buccaneers holding the 15th overall pick in the upcoming draft. If the Bears were to propose a trade involving the 25th overall pick in 2026 and a potential first-round pick that might be lower in 2027, Tampa Bay could consider adjusting its terms to make a deal more appealing to the Raiders.

On the Raiders’ side, the organization might prefer to keep Crosby out of the conference, and minority owner Tom Brady, who carries significant influence over football decisions, could play a role in facilitating a smoother trade process. With recent comments from Raiders General Manager John Spytek and coach Klint Kubiak affirming their support for Crosby, it remains to be seen if they can navigate the challenges that have led to speculation about Crosby’s future in Las Vegas. Less than a month ago, Jay Glazer suggested that Crosby’s time with the Raiders may be nearing its end, creating a sense of urgency for the Raiders to maximize their return.

As the trade scenarios unfold, fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see if the Buccaneers will make a bold move and if the Raiders will accept any offers that come their way, potentially reshaping their roster in the process.
