Henderson, Nev. — The Las Vegas Raiders are actively continuing their head coach search, having interviewed Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady for the second time this Monday. This interview signifies the organization’s ongoing commitment to finding the right leader to replace former head coach Pete Carroll, who was released after a challenging 3-14 season.
Brady is now among the few candidates who have received a second interview, joining former Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter and Carolina’s Ejiro Evero. Minter has already secured the head coaching position with the Baltimore Ravens, further emphasizing the competitive nature of this coaching search.
Notably, the Raiders’ search has intensified as other potential candidates have also taken new positions; former Miami coach Mike McDaniel has been named the offensive coordinator for the Chargers.
In his tenure with the Bills, Brady has demonstrated a solid track record of offensive success. Under his guidance, the Josh Allen-led Bills averaged an impressive 30.9 points per game in 2024 and maintained a notable 28.3 points this past season, ranking among the top-performing offenses in the NFL. Brady has been with the Bills since 2022, initially as quarterbacks coach before moving up to interim offensive coordinator in November 2023, a role that became permanent after the season concluded. He previously played a crucial role as LSU’s pass game coordinator during their 2019 national championship run, during which he worked closely with Heisman winner Joe Burrow.
Looking ahead, the Raiders hold the first overall pick in this year’s draft and are widely expected to select Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza of Indiana, who showcased extraordinary talent by leading his team to a national championship. This selection poses the potential for revitalizing the team’s future, aligning with their efforts to establish strong leadership within the coaching staff.
The combination of a promising draft and the pursuit of a seasoned coach like Brady hints at a hopeful turnaround for the Raiders in the upcoming season.
