Pitlochry Festival Theatre is set to kick off its 75th Anniversary fundraising campaign with an exciting lineup that promises to blend star power with unique experiences. The celebration starts on Saturday, February 28, with Grammy-nominated pop icon Lulu joining Artistic Director Alan Cumming for an intimate discussion about her remarkable 60-year career. Attendees will also have the opportunity to get their copies of her new autobiography, “If Only You Knew,” signed during a post-show event.

The festivities continue on Sunday, March 1, when broadcaster Kirsty Wark leads a conversation with esteemed novelist and fashion writer Justine Picardie. The focus will be on Picardie’s latest work, “Fashioning the Crown,” which takes readers through half a century of British history by examining royal fashion, backed by original research from the Royal Archives and personal experiences with the Royal Family.

Justine Picardie expressed her excitement about participating in the theatre’s anniversary celebrations, stating, “I’m really excited to be visiting Pitlochry Festival Theatre next month, where I’ll be talking with the wonderful Kirsty Wark about my new book.” Wark echoed this sentiment, highlighting the theatre’s significance in Scotland’s cultural scene and her anticipation of exploring the fascinating narratives within Picardie’s work.

Alan Cumming, enthusiastic about the weekend’s events, remarked, “What an eclectic weekend this will be.” He expressed his admiration for Lulu and his eagerness for future fundraising events.

In addition to these captivating discussions, the theatre will present a free exhibition showcasing 25 years of its costume design, featuring garments, accessories, sketches, and production images that celebrate its well-regarded in-house wardrobe craft.

The fundraising appeal’s objective is to ensure the continuation of exceptional live theatre for the next 75 years, promote new writing and creative talents, and enhance engagement programs for schools and communities. VIP Meet and Greet packages will also be available at both events, offering fans a unique chance to interact with Lulu, Kirsty Wark, Justine Picardie, and Alan Cumming.
