Reza Pahlavi, the prominent figure leading the Iranian democratic opposition, has voiced a hopeful message following a significant military operation against Iran’s regime. Early Saturday, U.S. and Israeli forces initiated Operation Epic Fury, which reportedly resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. President Trump, in announcing the strikes, emphasized the danger posed by Iran, labeled the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism. He expressed solidarity with the Iranian people, stating, “the hour of your freedom is at hand,” a message that has resonated deeply among those under the regime’s oppressive rule.

For nearly five decades, the Islamic Republic of Iran has operated outside the norms of international relations, acting as an expansionist entity that undermines neighboring countries and incites conflicts globally. Pahlavi underscored the regime’s long history of hostility towards the U.S., stemming from the 1979 hostage crisis, and highlighted the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps’ responsibility for the deaths of numerous Americans.

Throughout his presidency, Trump has taken decisive measures against Iran, withdrawing from the nuclear deal and designating the Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization. His administration’s actions culminated in the elimination of Qasem Soleimani, a key Iranian military figure. Pahlavi noted that while the regime has committed atrocious acts abroad, its most severe atrocities occur domestically, where the government has violently suppressed dissent.

As popular protests for freedom proliferate in Iran, Pahlavi called the uprising a struggle between occupation and liberation. He declared that the Iranian people are not alone in their fight, with U.S. and Israeli support indicating a significant shift in the balance of power. The path to a free Iran, he asserts, will ultimately be dictated by the Iranians themselves, with the potential for peace and prosperity waiting on the other side of the regime’s fall.

Iran’s transition to democracy is seen as a crucial step for the region, with Pahlavi outlining a clear plan for recovery through the Iran Prosperity Project. This strategic roadmap aims to stabilize the nation post-regime, contrasting the chaotic aftermath witnessed in Iraq. Pahlavi emphasizes the collective unity among Iran’s diverse opposition groups, who stand firm on principles of territorial integrity, liberties, equality, and the people’s right to self-determination.

In his vision for a democratic Iran, Pahlavi anticipates a significant transformation in the Middle East, suggesting a framework for peace that includes recognition of Israel and harmony with neighboring Arab states. He proposes naming this peace initiative the “Cyrus Accords,” in honor of the ancient Persian ruler known for his benevolence and respect for human rights.

The Iranian populace’s affection for the United States stands in stark contrast to the regime’s animosity. Pahlavi expressed gratitude for the American support and urged continued international solidarity as Iran approaches a pivotal moment of potential liberation. He believes that with courage and collaboration, the Iranian people can reshape their future, positioning themselves as a stabilizing force in a historically tumultuous region. The world watches closely, hoping for a peaceful and democratic resolution that respects the aspirations of the Iranian people.
