Jacob Elordi has revealed his deep admiration for Margot Robbie during the filming of “Wuthering Heights.” In a recent interview, the 28-year-old actor, known for his role in “Frankenstein,” expressed that the feeling of admiration was mutual between the two Australian stars.

Elordi candidly shared how he made it a point to stay within a certain distance of the “Barbie” actress, stating he ensured he was no more than 10 meters away at all times. “We have a mutual obsession,” he told US entertainment platform Fandango, as Robbie sat close by. He elaborated on his fascination, noting he enjoyed observing her everyday actions, including how she drinks tea and eats her food, seemingly captivated by the experience.

In “Wuthering Heights,” Elordi portrays Heathcliff while Robbie takes on the role of Catherine. Reflecting on their on-screen romance, he shared memorable moments from behind the scenes, saying, “There’d be a moment where we’d be running hand-in-hand through the moors—maybe not even in the scene—where I’d look across at her and she’d be looking at me… and in that moment, we really were a part of their love, for real.”

Margot Robbie, who recently became a mother, expressed her own anxieties about returning to filming so soon after giving birth, especially concerning intimate scenes. In an interview with British Vogue, she addressed the high expectations surrounding the film’s content, particularly after the release of the provocative “Saltburn.” Robbie revealed that while “Wuthering Heights” does contain some sexual elements, it ultimately gravitates more towards romance, contrasting with the more provocative expectations some may have.

She pointed out that the film seeks to recapture the essence of epic romance, akin to classics like “The Notebook” and “The English Patient.” “It’s just been so long since we’ve had one,” she remarked, expressing hope that the film will resonate with audiences by eliciting strong emotional responses.

Together, Elordi and Robbie are positioned to deliver a compelling adaptation of Emily Brontë’s classic novel, promising a blend of romance and emotional depth that has been missing in contemporary cinema.
