The Oklahoma men’s basketball team is gearing up for an exciting matchup as they host No. 15/16 Arkansas on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman. With a current record of 11-9 and 1-6 in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), the Sooners are looking to capitalize on their home court advantage.

In response to adverse weather conditions over the weekend, the OU Athletics Department has declared Fan Appreciation Night, granting free admission to the game. Season ticket holders and fans who secured tickets in advance will retain their designated seats, while unoccupied seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for those without tickets. Fans unable to attend due to the weather can email the OU Athletics Ticket Office for ticket exchanges for future home games.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN, featuring announcers Tom Hart and Dane Bradshaw, while the Sooner Sports Radio Network will cover it with Toby Rowland and Kevin Henry providing commentary.

Oklahoma boasts a solid home record of 8-2 this season and has demonstrated impressive shooting, outpacing opponents with a 50% to 42% shooting margin from the field and a 38% to 33% lead from long range. In contrast, Arkansas has struggled on the road, holding a 1-3 record in true away games.

While this season marks just Oklahoma’s second in the SEC, the two teams have a history, having met annually for the past four seasons. Under head coach Porter Moser, the Sooners have won three of these matchups, with their last victory against the Razorbacks being a tight 65-62 game last year in Fayetteville. Moser holds a 3-1 record against Arkansas.

Looking ahead, Oklahoma’s players are stepping up their performance, particularly junior guard Xzayvier Brown, who has been on fire, averaging 19.2 points over the past 11 games, including multiple games with over 20 points. First-year guard Nijel Pack also continues to impress as he surpasses the 2,000-point mark for his career, ranking third nationally among active players.

As the Sooners prepare for the challenge against Arkansas, they will also look to build momentum for their subsequent home game against Texas on Saturday. The stage is set for an engaging and competitive basketball showdown in Norman, with both teams eager to showcase their skills on the court.
