Bodø/Glimt’s forward Kasper Høgh continued to impress with another outstanding performance, netting his third goal in the group stage during a recent match against Atlético Madrid. Following his influential brace that helped secure a victory against Manchester City, Høgh’s improvised close-range finish in the 59th minute highlighted his striking prowess.
Norwich City is actively pursuing Høgh, reportedly in discussions with Bodø/Glimt officials regarding a £7 million transfer package as they seek to bolster their attacking options ahead of Monday’s domestic transfer deadline. However, Bodø/Glimt’s managing director, Frode Thomassen, recently emphasized that the club is under no pressure to sell their standout player, especially with a crucial two-legged tie on the horizon at the end of February.
In addition to Norwich’s interest, other clubs are also monitoring Høgh’s situation. Notably, Celtic and Premier League side Fulham have shown interest, with both clubs alongside those in the upper tiers of the Championship keeping an eye on the 25-year-old forward. Høgh remains under contract with Bodø/Glimt until 2029, further complicating any immediate transfer.
Thomassen, speaking on the GiveMeSport podcast, addressed Norwich’s inquiry, stating, “We don’t have to sell anyone but if the offer is good and the player would like to go, of course, we will judge it and see.” He also praised Høgh as a leading star both on and off the field, underscoring his significance to the club’s culture and performance, which has been their priority.
Bodø/Glimt aims to maintain their competitive edge, recently finishing the group phase of the Champions League in 23rd place, securing nine points from eight matches. Høgh joined Bodø/Glimt two years ago, contributing significantly with 43 goals in 83 appearances and was a key figure in their semi-final run in the Europa League last season, where he was joint top scorer.
With the Norwegian transfer window opening on January 30 and running until March 26, Norwich has a limited window to finalize their transfer plans. They are focusing on strengthening their squad for the second half of the season, with several new additions already made, including Ali Ahmed, Paris Maghoma, and Manchester United loanee Harry Amass. The ongoing interest in Høgh and other targets may shape both clubs’ futures as they navigate this critical period in the transfer market.
