ANN ARBOR, Mich. — In a dominant display, No. 3 Michigan triumphed over Indiana with a final score of 86-72 on Tuesday night. Elliot Cadeau was a driving force for the Wolverines, scoring 19 points with 10 of those coming in the crucial early minutes of the game. Yaxel Lendeborg contributed significantly as well, netting 13 of his 15 points in the second half, showcasing Michigan’s depth in scoring.

The Wolverines (17-1, 7-1 Big Ten) established a commanding lead early, going up by as much as 17 points in the first half and extending it to 25 points at one point in the second half. Indiana struggled to find their rhythm, starting off cold by missing 14 of their first 15 shots. This loss marked Indiana’s fourth straight as they continue to adjust under first-year coach Darian DeVries.

For Indiana (12-7, 3-5), Tucker DeVries led with 15 points while Nick Dorn added 14, and both Sam Alexis and Reed Bailey contributed 11 points. Notably, Lamar Wilkerson, who had been averaging nearly 24 points in his prior Big Ten outings, was limited to just eight points after shooting 3 of 10.

Michigan, known for its explosive offense under Coach Dusty May, showcased its defensive prowess as well. Entering the game ranked second in field-goal defense, the Wolverines effectively contained Indiana, holding them scoreless until Bailey’s layup came 5:41 into the contest. The Hoosiers struggled significantly from beyond the arc, going 0 of 10 until Dorn made a three-pointer late in the first half.

Aday Mara added 13 points for Michigan, and teammate Trey McKenney chipped in with 10.

Looking ahead, Indiana will visit Rutgers on Friday, while Michigan is set to host their rival Ohio State on the same night. The Wolverines aim to maintain momentum as they push through the remainder of the season.
