New Zealand has officially welcomed its new High Commissioner to Fiji, Greg Andrews, who presented his credentials to Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu in a ceremony that signifies the beginning of his diplomatic mission in the island nation. The event marked an important milestone, formally recognizing Andrews as the representative of the New Zealand Government in Fiji.
In expressing his sentiments during the ceremony, High Commissioner Andrews conveyed his honor in meeting both the President of Fiji and the First Lady, Emily Lalabalavu. He began his remarks with the Fijian greeting, “Ni sa bula vinaka,” and emphasized the depth of his humility in assuming this significant role.
“I’m looking forward to working with communities, businesses, officials, and Kiwis based here in Fiji to further strengthen the ties between our two countries,” Andrews remarked, showcasing his eagerness to foster closer connections between New Zealand and Fiji during his tenure.
Bringing a wealth of experience to this position, Mr. Andrews has previously served as New Zealand’s Ambassador to several European countries, including Belgium, Luxembourg, Romania, Bulgaria, and Moldova.
