Nasinu Secondary School is gearing up for an exhilarating athletic season, focusing particularly on its long-distance runners as it prepares for the Suva Zone Two meet and the eagerly awaited Fiji Finals. During the recent inter-house competition held at HFC Bank Stadium, long-distance coach Munil Sami expressed optimism regarding the athletes’ performance levels.
This year signifies a fresh start for Nasinu, with the school taking a proactive approach by beginning training soon after the conclusion of the 2025 Fiji Finals. Coach Sami believes that this early preparation has been crucial in improving the team’s depth and stamina ahead of vital competitions. Over his three-year tenure with the school, he has witnessed significant growth in the long-distance program, as athletes continue to raise their standards season after season.
Sami emphasized that the team has been working diligently for both the zone meet and the Fiji Finals since last year, and there is eager anticipation to showcase the results of their hard work in the upcoming weeks. The Suva Zone Two meet is scheduled for next month, followed by the Fiji Finals from April 30 to May 2. The entire school community and supporters are looking forward to witnessing how the rigorous training will manifest in achievements on the track, fostering a spirit of enthusiasm and camaraderie among the athletes.
