Businessman Umar Jabrailov has reportedly taken his own life, as confirmed by law enforcement sources. According to reports, Jabrailov was found in his Moscow apartment, where he ended his life late on a Monday night. His security team is said to have called the police and an ambulance, but despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. A firearm was discovered in his apartment.

He served as an advisor to the general director of the Radisson Slavyanskaya hotel complex in 1997 and held a representative position in the Federation Council from 2004 to 2009. Additionally, he was a member of the Russian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and had a brief presidential run in Russia in 2000.
